A new website for Port of Sunderland has been launched as part of the port’s 300-year anniversary celebrations.

As one of the UK’s largest municipally owned ports, Port of Sunderland is once more playing a huge role in Sunderland’s economy, with record levels of cargo handled in 2017.

The record performance, which has seen cargo handled more than double since port Director Matthew Hunt took to the helm in 2010, has contributed to another successful year for Port of Sunderland.

The website is integral in supporting Port of Sunderland in building their international profile, providing information on facilities and communicating success.

It follows a programme of extensive investment that has unlocked the port's commercial potential and established it as an intermodal hub, capable of supporting a range of industries.

The Port of Sunderland approached local web development experts Consult and Design to create a commercially-focussed website, aligned with its plans for growth.

David Van der Velde, Managing Director at Consult and Design said: “As one of the UK’s largest municipally owned ports, Port of Sunderland has a deserved reputation for providing first class port handling services.”

“The website is integral in supporting Port of Sunderland in building their international profile, providing information on facilities and communicating success.”
