We hope all of you enjoyed the festive season and managed to recharge your batteries ahead of the New Year.
2014 proved to be another great year for Consult and Design. We continued to build on our knowledge and expertise by widening our network of Drupal partners and associates, while continuing our commitment to existing clients near and far.
Our well-travelled team of experts landed in Athens, Greece to formerly present a new website to the board of governors of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
Next stop was the Alps, where we were delighted to have been asked to work with some of the world’s top youth trainers in helping to develop their innovative “Youth Culture as an Expression of Freedom” training, which took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, later the same year.
A particular highlight were our trips to Austin, Texas for DrupalCon North America and Amsterdam for DrupalCon Europe. This exhibition, much like ComicCon without Peter Dinklage or Bryan Cranston, was a hub of like-minded Drupal ‘enthusiasts’. Here’s the official Drupal Association round up:
‘This event, held annually in Europe and North America brings together thousands of people from across the globe to drain a city of all its coffee and fill a venue with energy, companionship and code unmatched by any other tech community.’
2014 ended on not one but two highs. Firstly, we hosted the first ever DrupalCamp North East, which brought together the Drupal North East community – the event was a brilliant success and paved the way for many camps in the future.
Secondly, we were overwhelmed to have not only received a nomination, but go on to win the Technology Award at the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards.
And, it looks like 2015 is going to be just as successful. We like to think of Consult and Design as an organisation’s in-house development team. In order for us to be successful, we have to ensure are clients and partners are successful, too. Part of this feat is taking what we know and implementing that into a cross-section of organisations, including commercial entities and both the public and voluntary sectors.
We already have a tonne of challenging yet exciting projects lined up for the coming year. We can’t wait to get going.
Our first port of call will see a number of our experts fly out to Amman, Jordan and work with the inspirational i-Dare Organisation.
i-Dare are a non-profit, non-governmental group, who are committed to sustainable development.
They believe in youth innovation as a driving force towards positive transformation of their society by empowering individuals, to enable them to unleash their potential.
During our time in Amman, we will meet with other like-minded organisations who are also involved in social enterprise and youth employment strategy, in the hope that we can create a network of partnerships throughout the world.
Consult and Design thrives on this type of project and we have already garnered experience in the non-profit arena both home and abroad. You can read about our ongoing partnerships with the Anna Lindh Foundation, together with Children North East, Young Arab Voices, North East Child Poverty, and The British School, Alexandria.
Here’s to another exciting year, it’s great to have you all on board!
