Made for Young People by Young People
Consult and Design International are very excited to launch a new website today having worked with the Phoenix Detached Youth Project based in Meadowell and Chirton in North Tyneside over the last 3 months. We're very proud of this development as from start to finish we had the opportunity to work with a group of young people to both develop the site with their invaluable input and guidance, at the same time as helping them learn about the process of web development and how websites are created. The best bit is, this is just the beginning!
Having held initial meetings with the group we embarked on a fantastic weekend of activities at Keilder with the 5 young people chosen to work on the site. The programme featured outdoor activities interlinked with intensive consultation and development of the main aims, structure and design ideas for the site. During the development, we were in constant contact with the group and we were very pleased to award them with certificates of achievement at the launch today for the great work that they put into the project.
Now the site will be given some time for the blog and other areas to develop before we move to the next stage of organising activities and giving the local forum an opportunity to exploit the great tools that the site will provide. We'll also be setting up the Facebook page in order to link into the site and provide simultaneous updates in a place where all the young people can stay up to date.
Initial feedback has been great from the young people, staff and funders of the project and we believe its just the beginning. If you want to know more you can visit the website or subscribe to the blog.
